Poster 2013: The safety of the united allergy services immunotherapy protocol
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background A small, but significant number of subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) based systemic reactions (SR) result in morbidity and mortality. SR range from 4 to 7% for traditional protocols and up to 34% if undergoing RUSH immunotherapy. There is estimated 1 death per 2.5 million immunotherapy injections. We report the results of an IRB approved study and contrast the safety of the United Allergy Services (UAS) SCIT treatment protocol to previously published reports. We hypothesized that a slower SCIT build up phase and pre-selection for low risk patients would prove to be safer than traditional protocols.

Evaluation of SubcutaneousRush Immunotherapy Effectiveness in Perennial Allergic Rhinitis after a Year from Treatment
Introduction: Allergen immunotherapy is an effective treatment for allergic rhinitis. Conventional immunotherapy takesat least 5 to 6 months to reach the maintenance dosage; nonetheless, rush immunotherapy accelerates to reach the maintenance dose several months earlier. However, the safety and efficacy of this treatment has not been widely investigated. The objective of the present study...

Background Peach allergy is prevalent, persistent and potentially severe. LTPs (Pru p 3) and profilins (Pru p 4) are the main allergens involved in this kind of allergy in patients(pts) of Mediterranean area. The hidden presence of LTPs in foodstuffs and in other food involved in LTP syndrome can trigger severe reactions, including anaphylaxis. Thus, this type of allergy can be considered an im...
